When Robin Van Persie first joined Manchester United he took the number 20 kit that had once been worn by Fabio da Silva before he went out on loan prior to the arrival of RVP.

However, the departure of Dimitar Berbatov has left the number nine kit available for the Dutch striker that has more than taken over the vacated place of the Bulgarian hit man.

While it was thought that Van Persie would potentially change his number to get as close to his beloved number 10, which he has worn for the Holland national team as well as during his time at Arsenal, it appears that he will remain in possession of the number 20 according to quotes from the player:

‘I think I’ll keep it. I have the option to take number nine but I don’t think I will do that. I’ll stick with what is right and what feels good.

Also, I don’t want to be harsh on the fans who have got number 20 on their kit. I don’t want them to have to buy a new shirt.

It’s been a good number for me and now I can at least celebrate the 20th trophy for another year. I’ll stick with it.”

It looks like fans will get to enjoy their now beloved number 20 for the long term.

I like VP comments and decision on keeping No. 20 but we Manutd Fans still have a lots feelings for a loan out Fabio who was having kits No. 20. I think kits No 9 will be special for our special hitman - Vampire. Your are on Red Home where there is no lack of Blood. With No 9 you will make 50 goals next season with SAF support.
