Jose Mourinho’s Latest Comments Cloud His Real Madrid Future

>

Jose Mourinho’s future at Real Madrid has been discussed throughout the season and has only heated up as the summer nears. The manager of Los Blancos has been looked upon under a microscope throughout his career but has never been afraid to speak his mind. Just last week, the Portuguese tactician revealed that his decision to hold off on signing Diego Lopez was certainly regrettable.

“Would I do anything differently if I had the chance to do the past three years over again? I should have brought in Diego Lopez after my first year. We didn’t do enough to sign him. It’s a real shame,” Mourinho said.

Mourinho’s comments were handled well by many in Madrid, and even some of his players were taken aback by the manager’s honesty. In Round 2 of what has been an ongoing bout between Mourinho and Portuguese International Pepe, the defender responded to his boss’ comments.

“We have to have a bit more respect for Iker. The boss’s quotes were not the most suitable.”

“Iker is an institution - at this club and in Spain. He has to know that we [the players] and the fans are behind him.” (via Goal.com)

Mourinho, not one to shy away from controversy or the media, responded to Pepe’s comments with several statements of his own.

“Pepe’s problem is easy to analyse: it’s called Varane. It’s hard to be a 31 year old and be steamrollered by a 19-year-old kid [Raphaël Varane] but that’s the law of life. There must be very few people who don’t think the future is [Sergio] Ramos and Varane.

“I have to have the legitimacy to decide: I am a football manager. I prefer López to Casillas. I like a goalkeeper who is good with his feet, who comes for crosses, who dominates his area. You all question me and I accept that but you have to accept that I am the coach, it is simple.” (via The Guardian)

Mourino does make several good points in regard to him being the manager and having the power to decide, but his comments about having not signed Diego Lopez earlier will certainly be hard to swallow for Casillas. Some may see Mourinho’s outburst as the next step in his inevitable Madrid exit. He’s been linked to a sensational return to Chelsea throughout the year, but his most recent comments, those directed at his own players, might be enough to help see him out.

What do you make of the Portuguese manager’s remarks? Do you think they are unnecessary? Do you think they are enough to force him out of the Spanish capital?

In 2011 Mou asked publicly to give the Golden Ball to Iker as “the best player in the world” it is in public videos. So how come now says he wanted Diego Lopez in 2911?!! He is trying to get out of his contractual obligation to pay Real Madrid 20 million to break the contract. Abramovich does not want to pay his clause as he already paid him 17 million when he sacked ((sacked!) Mou from Chelsea. He is NEGOTIATING true to his Machiavellian style. He knows that attacking the captain of Spainnand Real Madrid, attacking Ronaldo and the aficionados he is going to force the club to let him go with no clause.

He is a terrible man and a bad coach. His cowardice playing against Barcelona will never be forgotten. Tactically he is weak and people don’t like him so he des not have the players, any players with him. What he did to Tito, coach of Barcelona poking him in the eye was childish and criminal.

We want Mourinho gone. He is a small man, egotistical and his results in Madrid very poor with one of the best teams in the world. All excuses. He should go and GOOD LUCK TO CHELSEA!!! You are going o need it
