Arsenal hosted Wigan at The Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening in a must win battle. Wigan, fighting relegation needed a win to keep their Premier League hopes alive, while Arsenal, at the other end of the table, needed a win to help keep them in their fight for Champions League football. Lukas Podolski opened the scoring after 11 minutes but Wigan’s Shaun Maloney scored an excellent free-kick just before the break. The Gunners then scored three goals in the second half through Theo Walcott, Podolski and Aaron Ramsey to secure a vital three points.
