PSG only recently managed to land their first domestic title after 19 years. The league victory this season has immensely boosted the profile of the club. They are once again expected to spend big in the summer in the hopes of creating a big impact in the Champions League. However, PSG have been dealt two major blows immediately after the title victory with the news that key men – Carlo Ancelotti and Thiago Silva – could leave the club in the summer.

Manager Ancelotti has not only been influential in helping the club win the title, but he has also been a major figure in helping attract names like Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is widely seen as the next Real Madrid manager. The Spanish club announced recently that Mourinho will depart the club at the end of the season.

Ancelotti recently requested permission to speak with Real Madrid, which was denied by PSG. Even as the dust surrounding his future has not settled, Thiago Silva has been linked with Barcelona in the last few days.

The Catalan club have suffered quite heavily this season due to the absence of quality central defenders. Captain Carlos Puyol is coming to the end of his stellar career. According to Sky Sports, Barcelona see Silva as an ideal replacement for the 34-year-old. Silva is widely regarded as the best central defender in the world right now.

Silva’s agent, though, has been quick to refute rumours by saying that his client signed a contract with the French club only a year ago and he is not thinking about a move right now. Even though he admitted that the presence of Ancelotti played a significant role in his client choosing PSG, Ancelotti’s departure may not see Silva leave the club as well.

PSG paid in excess of £38 million for the defender, thus making him the most expensive player in his position.
