Tottenham went crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday night after Basel proved to be more clinical from the spot. Clint Dempsey scored first but his goal was cancelled out and overtaken by goals from Mohamed Salah and Aleksander Dragovic. Clint Dempsey then scored again to drive the game into extra time and eventually penalties. Basel showed their strength from the spot and eventually won 4-1 to book their place in the next round of the Europa League.
