After another horrific defeat to Bayern Munich this past Wednesday, Barcelona will officially start their rebuilding this summer. The team was man handled throughout the two games against Bayern Munich, which let the club know that the world is now catching up to their tiki taka style of play. Bayern used a lot of relentless pressure and physical play to shock Barcelona.

Barcelona will now become even busier this upcoming summer since after their display this week, they might be the ones falling behind in the footballing world. A couple names that have been thrown Barcelona’s way are Manchester United’s goalkeeper, De Gea; Borussia Dortmund’s defender, Matt Hummels;  and Santos’ forward, Neymar.

Manchester United’s keeper, De Gea, was seen as a favorite to replace Valdes under the woodwork. David De Gea left Atletico Madrid for the Red Devils on the summer of the 2011 transfer season. De Gea had a huge responsibility in replacing legend Edwin Van Der Sar. Up to date many critics have expressed their opinions saying that the young Spanish goalkeeper has fallen short of expectation so far. Barcelona will welcome De Gea with open arms should the Spaniard decide to leave the Premier League.

On the footballing world, Mats Hummels name has been flying around Europe, with teams like Bayern, City and United, Real and Barcelona after him. Barcelona has a huge hole to fill in defense. With the injuries to Puyol and Mascherano, Barcelona was only left with Pique and a substitute to compete against Bayern. Puyol isn’t getting any young and might only have 1 or 2 good years left in his tank, and Mascherano is good in defense but we have to remember center back is not his usual position. Hummels’ signing will be a huge boost for the Blaugranas and it will solidify the defense as maybe one of the best. Alves, Pique, Hummels, and Alba would be a dream defense for any team. The defender is still on the fence whether to leave Borussia Dortmund or not, however it is expected for him to follow on Gotze’s and possibly Lewandowski’s footsteps and let Borussia cash in on him this summer.

On the offensive side of the ball, Neymar has been in every team’s wishlist. The young attacker has told Santos he will not sign a new contract which adds more substance to the speculation that he will transfer this summer. Barcelona have been the most consistent shoppers for Neymar and have allegedly already agreed to personal terms with the player. The Brazilian has been urged by former Barcelona left back, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst to join the Blaugranas. His addition will be enourmous to Barcelona’s already scary attack. A lineup with Pedro, Messi, and Neymar up top will intimidate any defense.

Barcelona’s vice-president has already spoken publicly about his team’s upcoming transfers assuring the team will certainly acquire players.

We all know that Barcelona present team will go down in history as the greatest team ever in thd game but watching the two games played agianst Bayarn shows that we need to put some level of physical play to our game, Bayern play too much phsical football on the two occasion & the height of our defenders is to short Pique is the tallest in our defence ( center defenders) so we really need defenders like Mat Hammel David Lius or Vidic
