Neymar has confirmed that he would be interested in moving to Bayern Munich from Santos FC. The distance and the language are daunting. From Brazil to Germany, there are worlds in between. Neymar, alongside Gareth Bale and Edinson Cavani, is among the most sought after players in the world. His recent comments have sparked rumors to Bayern Munich fans that the German club may be able to sign the twenty-one year old Brazilian sensation.

Neymar drew attention by uttering phrases such as, “Playing for Bayern is something I could imagine doing,” according to Miles Chambers from Goal.com. Neymar also mentions how Bayern has ‘extraordinary players’ such as Bastian Schweinsteiger.

What makes this interesting is that even ESPN speculated that Neymar would be moving to Real Madrid or Barcelona. In one quick statement made by the Brazilian international was able to grab a hold of Bayern’s attention as well as the world’s.

Dante, who plays center back for Bayern Munich as well as the Brazilian national team, also commented on Neymar’s potential transfer to the soccer club. SW Lim of Goal.com claims that Dante was asked by Neymar of what life was like in ‘die Roten’.

Sky Sports also quoted Dante saying, “I told Neymar there is nothing better than Bayern Munich, [and] I said it would be a great club for him.” That little opinion could go a long way in a decision that will affect Neymar’s career. It certainly helps the chances of the Munich-based club of landing the Santos striker in the future.

Some doubters say that Neymar will still end up in La Liga over the Bundesliga with powerhouses Barcelona or Real Madrid but people tend to overlook the German juggernauts that have been impressive this past season. The world also forgot that Bayern Munich went to the UEFA Champions League final only to lose to Chelsea in an overtime penalty shootout. That same team that beat Real Madrid to make it to the Champions League final is now competing again for the world’s next best player.

It seems that if you look in these past two years that on paper Bayern Munich has the upper hand. Real Madrid is struggling at third place in La Liga hoping that maybe Neymar will come to the rescue. In contrast, Bayern Munich is sitting atop the German Bundesliga with an impressive 15 point lead; the celebrated club does not seem to be doing too bad without the services of Neymar.
