It was a frantic half full of running and full-blooded challenges but neither side were able to capitalize on their opportunities. Madrid had the run of play but great work from the Dortmund centerbacks, Hummels and Subotic, denied Los Blancos the chance to grab the early lead. It leaves Jose Mourinho’s men in a tough spot, needing at least three goals in one half if they play on going through to the final.

29′: Di Maria has looked quite lively today but has tried for the big diagonal ball to Ronaldo on 3-4 occasions now. Interesting game plan by Jose.
29′: Di Maria looks for that diagonal ball to Ronaldo and his effort is too deep for the Portuguese.
28′: Tough to say who’s more likely to score yet. It’s incredibly sloppy stuff.

21′: Ozil tries to dribble through the Dortmund defense, is dispossessed and Dortmund counter but Kuba’s cross to Lewandowski is headed away by Ramos.
20′: Ronaldo bombs down the left wing and gets in a tasty cross that Higuain would’ve slammed home but Subotic rose high to head away.

13′: Kevin Grosskreutz on for Mario Gotze.
12′: Madrid on a quick save and Di Maria’s shot is saved by Weidenfeller.
12′: SAVE LOPEZ! Lewandowski shot is saved!
12′: Gotze’s on the sideline now talking to his manager and clutching his hamstring. Not good for Dortmund.
11′: Dortmund on the counter with some nice, short passing but Gotze’s cheeky chip goes into the hands of Lopez.
11′: Di Maria dusts Schmelzer off the dribble but Bender with a well timed slide tackle.
10′: Ozil’s left footed curler is headed wide by Ronaldo but Higuain was offsides.
9′: Higuain again working the right wing and this time draws a free kick.
7′: Ozil’s corner headed out, Madrid recover possession and Ronaldo hits one from 20 yards out that flies high over the bar.
6′: Ozil’s corner sent back to him and Madrid possess around the box before Di Maria draws another corner.
6′: Corner, Madrid. Di Maria finds Higuain who’s cross is knocked out.
5′: Dortmund now on the run but Madrid’s defense snuffs out Gotze’s cross.
4′: SAVE BY WEIDENFELLER!!! Great early save as Higuain slipped through but his effort from 8 yards out was palmed away by the Dortmund keeper.
3′: Lewandowski gets his first touches on the ball, gets to the top of the box and gives it away to Alonso.
2′: Madrid working the left side through Ronaldo. Dortmund’s defense had that side on lock down last week.
