Manchester City Transfers: Citizens Tracking Real Madrid Defender for Summer Move

Reports from Here is the City claim that Manchester City are looking to add Real Madrid defender Pepe to their summer transfer plans.

After Kolo Toure was allowed to leave the club following the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, the Citizens are looking for a replacement veteran that has tons of experience both as a champion of Spain but also in European club competition.

The Portuguese international had a tough and disappointing season at Real Madrid last year and the 30-year-old looks like he could be part of a summer clean out at the Bernabeu following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho.

During his time as manager of Real Madrid, current Malaga boss and expected to be new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini was in charge of Pepe and could once again call for the services of his former charge.

There is belief that Pepe could be someone that City would want to convert into a defensive midfielder following the departure of Nigel De Jong with the club still not having a true enforcer in the deep part of their midfield.

No offers are currently on the table but rumors continue to mount.
