Israel +575 vs. Portugal -205, Draw: +280; Total 2o -150 (8:45 a.m. ET/5:45 a.m. PT):Despite having one of the world’s two best players in Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal has been tepid at best on the world stage in the last decade in international competitions.
At five points back of Russia in the Group F standings and in a fight with Israel for second place, Portugal should play good enough to get the victory here with Ronaldo scoring twice and possibly making a bid for the hat-trick.
And banking on a big performance from CR7, let’s take a shot at the over 2 goals and hope the Real Madrid superstar can help us cash two tickets here at once.
BETS: Portugal -205, Over 2 -150
PREDICTION: Portugal 2 Israel 1
Croatia -150 vs. Serbia +425, Draw: +245; Total: 2o -120 (ESPN Deportes, 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT): We’ll stick to simple math in this handicap and take the road team, Serbia, plus a goal (-155) on the alternate line knowing that with the total set at 2, goals should be really scarce.
Croatia is a logical favorite here at home but this match should be fairly tight and Serbia, presently in third place in Group A, may even be able to pull off the upset in a low-scoring chess match.
The Vatreni head into this match six points ahead of the Serbs and will be happy enough with a draw and a point if necessary.
BET: Serbia +1 -150
PREDICTION: Croatia 1 Serbia 1
Czech Republic +105 vs. Denmark +250, Draw: +225; Total: 2o -135 (3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT): The Danes haven’t been great so far and have earned just two points in three matches and sit alone at the bottom of Group B and will be possibly watching 2014’s World Cup from the same place as you and I will—in front`of our television sets.
The surprise 1992 European champions and manager Morten Olsen have some talent in players like Christian Eriksen but the hosts boast one of the world’s best goalkeepers in Chelsea’s Petr Čech and should find a way to trudge through this fixture and secure all three points.
And with so much pressure on Denmark to perform here, this should be an incredibly low-scoring stalemate of sorts with a lone Czech Republic goal being the difference.
BETS: Czech Republic +105, Under 2 +105
PREDICTION: Czech Republic 1 Denmark 0
Belgium -150 vs. Macedonia +400, Draw: +250; Total: 2½o +115 (3:45 p.m. ET/12:45 p.m. PT): A real team to watch for now and the future, Belgium’s roster is absolutely stacked with talent including Marouane Fellaini (Everton), English Premier League 2012 Player of the Season Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea), Christian Benteke (Aston Villa) and Daniel Van Buyten (Bayern Munich), among others.
Macedonia plays host here and no doubt the Red Lions will be up for this showdown but the Belgians are just way too talented and too deep and may end up surprising some in Brazil in 2014.
BETS: Belgium -150, Belgium -1 +125
PREDICTION: Belgium 2 Macedonia 0
BONUS PICKS: Slovenia -130, Norway -260 (Europe); Mexico Pick -175, United States -200 (CONCACAF); Colombia -400, Uruguay -175 (South America).
MONSTER FAVORITES 8-LEG PARLAY: Uzbekistan -330/South Korea -400/Bulgaria -900/Germany -1400/Austria -1100/Spain -2000/England -10,000/Argentina -1000
