Arsenal and Juventus Target Gonzalo Higuain by the Numbers

Both Arsenal and Juventus have been strongly linked to Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer. The Argentinian has seemingly deemed it time to move on from Madrid, though, with no manager at the helm currently, his future does seem up in the air.

Arsene Wenger has reportedly been given an incredibly large war chest to spend in this summer’s transfer window. Though Arsenal have been known to underspend during the window, it appears as though the Frenchman is going to change things. The club failed to adequately replace Robin van Persie after selling the Dutchman to Premier League rivals Manchester United last season, and Wenger has broadened his search to the continent in order to find a world class striker capable of filling van Persie’s boots.

The North London side will face competition for Higuain’s signature from Italian giants Juventus, however if reports are to be believed. A bidding war seems to be on, though, and Juventus have been outbid by £6.8m so far according to The Metro.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to be announced as Real Madrid’s new manager if all goes to plan, and the Italian will want to ensure his new club get what they deserve for their Argentinian striker. Take a look at what Higuain has brought to his employers since bursting onto the scene in Argentina.
