Seattle Sounder Alex Morgan receives a soccer ball made of Skittles

Earlier this month United States Women’s National Team member, Alex Morgan received a soccer ball made entirely out of skittles. The star tweeted a picture of herself holding the ball, saying that she was “Loving the soccer ball @Skittles gave me! #tastetherainbow.”

Her tweet and picture created quite the trend on the social networking site. Her post has been retweeted over 2,000 times and has been selected by over 3,500 people as one of their favorites.

Morgan left the New York Flash earlier this year to join the Seattle Sounders. She assisted the USWMT in winning Gold at the London 2012 Olympics. The women’s team has received lots of praise over the Olympic victory. And as Morgan shows the gifts are still coming in, and in all forms and flavors.

Perhaps the popular soccer trick- the ‘rainbow kick’- will give a new meaning to the slogan ‘taste the rainbow’ as Skittles seems to have entered the realm of the beautiful game.  You can follow the Seattle Sounders forward on Twitter @alexmorgan13.
