Projected Tottenham lineup against Norwich City in Capital One Cup
Andre Villas-Boas will lead Tottenham into another round of the Capital One Cup tonight as he hopes to continue his quest for a first piece of English silverware. His club has looked equally as impressive as disappointing at times this season, but he will hope that the former is the case in tonight’s Oct 31, 2012 tie with Norwich City.
Spurs are likely to have a strong side sent out to guarantee their progression in the cup as Norwich City likewise will do the same. The Canaries know that the Preimer League title is not something they can hope for, so the only potential routes to silverware are through either the Capital One Cup of the FA Cup which kicks up later in the year.
Hugo Lloris is expected to make it back into the first team as well as Michael Dawson and Kyle Naughton at the back. Jake Livermore, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andos Townsend as well as promising youth star Iago Falque are all believed set to handle the midfield.
However, the front line of Clint Dempsey in support of Jermaine Defoe remains intact as the two have been brilliant together so far this season. The two will hopefully get the club off the mark early so they can see themselves subbed off in the second half to attempt to get in some rest before the coming weekend.
Tottenham still have several key players out due to injury while others will hope to be prevented from over exposure. Emmanuel Adebayor (back), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), Mousa Dembele (knee), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Scott Parker (Achilles) are all unavailable with William Gallas and Gareth Bale likely to be given a rest.
Tottenham Starting XI: Hugo Lloris; Kyle Walker, Michael Dawson, Steven Caulker, Kyle Naughton; Iago Falque, Jake Livermore, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Andros Townsend; Clint Dempsey, Jermaine Defoe.
