Not too long ago Mikael Silvestre was interviewingwith SWOL’s Tom Sunderland while spending time around England visiting several of his former clubs. However, now the player appears to be out of England and in the United States for what could be an interesting storyline to follow in the coming weeks.
According to the official twitter account of Merritt Paulson, the owner of Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers, was excited to be seeing Silvestre in training with his club this week.

Additionally TalkSPORT also has reported that the player could be on his was to the MLS in the attempt to follow in the footsteps of former English Premier League stars Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry.
Silvestre has not played competitively since his contract with German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen ended over the summer of 2012. He is still thought to be looking for the next potential move, but could keep the MLS as an option after such a warm welcome.
Although the MLS have much farther to go in becoming one of the worlds greatest and most competative leagues. However, their foundation is off to a good start and with veteran players such as David Beckham, Robbie Keane, Thierry Henry and others having all been a part or still remaining as a park in the lead.
