Manchester United looking to sign Real Madrid assist machine Mesut Ozil
In the interest of attempting to continue the improvements to their central midfield, Manchester United has been linked with another major name that could do just that for them. According to TalkSport on October 9, 2012, Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil was tipped as a possible January transfer target for the Red Devils.
So far Ozil has had a rough start to the La Liga season with Real Madrid and since the arrival of Luka Modric from Tottenham over the summer, it looks like if his form continues to be on a down turn he could be sold off.
That could be premature to say considering that he has contributed over 50 assists since joining the Spanish Champions before the 2010-11 season, but with the constant influx of high priced players, Madrid is not always the longest stop on many players careers.
Ozil is still young and would come at a high price tag, but the benefits of the German international’s creativity could be immense for the club as they look to fight their way back to the top of the English Premier League.
