It has been coming for the last few months, and with continued contract negotiations looking doomed for failure and poor displays seeing his place become suspect in the first team, Nani could indeed be looking at an exit from Old Trafford this January according to the Daily Mirror.

The Portuguese winger has done his best to be the new Ronaldo at Manchester United after the departure of world renowned goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid three summers ago. However, the truth of the matter is that Nani just is not Ronaldo and never will be.

So far this season he has failed to put his stamp on his position with Manchester United. With the club continuing to fight their way back to the top of the table with strong Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City sides all vying for this seasons title, a boost of cash in the arm come January could be more important than a failing winger.

Saturday September 29th, saw United defeated at home by Tottenham Hotspur in front of 75,000 fans, and after nearly escaping at Liverpool last weekend thanks to some officiating help the club look in need of more new first team recruits than just that of Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa.

The sale of Nani to Juventus could potentially help build a relationship to move the club closer to signing midfielder Arturo Vidal whom that have also been linked with in the past weeks. SWOL’s Jason Voss gives his take on the Vidal story here.
