Former Chelsea star Michael Ballack official retires from football after lengthy failed search for new club
German international legend and former Bayern Munich and Chelsea star, Michael Ballack has announced this week that his retirement from the game is no permanent and that he will be hanging up his boots indefinitely.
Ballack announced the ending of his career in a press conference on October 2, 2012 with Goal.com amongst other news outlets confirming the information later that afternoon.
The German midfielder had been linked with moves to multiple clubs around the world including Toronto FC of the United States and Canada’s highest tier competition, Major League Soccer.
It now seems that Ballack could potentially enter into a broadcasting career similar to how he played a part of ESPN’s UEFA European Championship coverage team during the summer of this year.
There are no new reports on the matter, but now we can all look back on Ballack’s stunning career with appreciation that he went out at the top of his game and did not waste away into a shadow of himself.
