Premier League Top 5: Gabby Agbonlahor Double Earns Player of the Week Credentials

In a double-stacked week of Premier League fixtures, we’re merely halfway through what the English top flight has to offer us this week when it comes to fixtures.

However, even with the extra dosage of midweek action waiting in the wings, this past weekend satiated our need for Premier League adrenaline quite nicely, albeit with a slightly-less-super-than-usual Super Sunday.

This week, it’s the little guy that dominates the rankings as the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal really struggled to fire on all cylinders.

5. Jem Karacan

Jem KaracanFar from the most glamorous player in the Reading squad, Jem Karacan isn’t likely to make a habit of asserting the same sort of influence on games as he did this weekend, starring well in the Royals’ 4-2 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The former Turkish Under-21 midfielder proved a perfect counterweight to the Cottagers’ strength in midfield, involving himself in all aspects of the visitors’ game and finishing the encounter with a pass accuracy of 94%.

It was Karacan that floated an enticing ball over the top for Adam Le Fondre to smash home Reading’s fourth before wrapping up the three points himself, finishing well from inside the area to round off a very impressive display.
