Emerging Talents: Serge Gnabry of Arsenal FC

Name: Serge Gnabry
Date of Birth: July 14, 1995
Height: 173cm
Nationality: German
Club: Arsenal FC
Position: Midfielder/Winger

Serge Gnabry joined Arsenal from German side Stuttgart in 2011 after a fee of £100,000 was agreed upon between the two sides in 2010. The talented winger spent a majority of his first season at Arsenal with the U18′s but was promoted to the Reserves after several impressive performances near the end of the season.

The 2012-2013 season has been an even more exciting year for the German. He was called into action by Arsene Wenger for a preseason friendly against FC Cologne and featured for 24 minutes. On the 26th of September of 2012, he made his professional debut for Arsenal, coming on in the 72nd minute in the League Cup in Arsenal’s 6-1 destruction of Coventry City. Just one month later, he made his Premier League debut against Norwich City, becoming the club’s third youngest player ever to feature for the first team. His Champions League debut came four days later when he came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Schalke at the Emirates.

The youngster possesses great power and strength both on and off the ball. He can play across the midfield but has great attacking instinct and isn’t afraid to do things on his own. Technically he is efficient and he is both able to take players on himself or combine with others around the box. He has a fantastic mix of power and class and will certainly be one to look out for as he develops in North London.

Have you seen Gnabry play? Do you think Arsenal have another very special player on their hands. Let us know below.

Are you actually going to show any of his goals or assists? All I see is a video of him missing loads and Arsenal not scoring. I know a lot about this player and there are loads of videos of him scoring, assisting etc. All the videos seem old too, no clips of his time in the Next Gen series??

His goal against Liverpool in the U21′s has been added - assisted by Gedion Zelalem, another Emerging Talent featured on SWOL.
