Chinese clubs offering massive future contracts for Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard looks set to have a major decision on his hands this coming off season. According to The Sun on October 9, 2012 several Chinese Premier League clubs are said to be offering the English Premier League’s all-time record midfield goal scorer deals worth an estimated £12 million a year.
The new policy of Chelsea only signing player’s over 30 years of age to yearly contracts, as instituted by club owner Roman Abramovich in the past month, looks set to force players like Lampard to decide just how much being a Blue means to them.
With potential offers from Shanghai Shenua, home to former Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, as well as a continued link with Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy, there is any number of moves that the veteran England international could make.
The money contracts of China will certainly appeal to Lampard as they would to any other player, but he also could potentially still find a new home in England or any of the other top leagues around the work with his top level of fitness and continued high level of skill.
