Chelsea Could Spend Just Under £100m To Land Striker
Despite the turmoil happening on the managerial front, Chelsea continue to set their transfer sites high. According to Tutto Mercato, Roman Abramovich is keen on adding Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao to his strikeforce this summer and is willing to spend around £91m to secure his services.
Chelsea signed Demba Ba from Newcastle United in the January transfer window but the London side continue to shop around for another top striker with Fernando Torres’ form being incredibly inconsistent.
Signing one of the world’s most in-form and desirable strikers won’t be cheap, however, and Abramovich is well aware that he’ll have to spend big in order to secure a deal that will make all parties happy. Chelsea will have to meet the €60m (£51.9m) release clause Atletico Madrid have demanded before figuring out personal terms with Falcao. Reports state that Chelsea are comfortable offering the Colombian hitman a four year deal worth £10m a year.
The thought of spending such big money on a striker will only spur conversation back to the fee and salary of Fernando Torres from Liverpool several years back. Abramovich has shown in the past that he isn’t afraid to spend big to secure the services of the world’s best players, but will he show a little more caution with Falcao?
Chelsea fans, what do you think about the link to Falcao? Could a move for the Colombian possibly spark a partnership between Torres and Falcao that would be the best in Europe? Or would Falcao’s arrival mark the end of Torres’ time in West London? Let us know in the comments below.

Do you want one apple to spole the rest?, f- toilet i mean torres out, R-FALCAO in.
For that much money just buy Lewendowski, Jovetic, Welbeck, and Bony
Babaolowo y always u. Buy cavani, jovetic, lewandowsky instead of one foolish guy
Babaolowo y always u. Buy cavani, jovetic, lewandowsky instead of one foolish guy
That will not be senceable! The press will blow everything about his high transfer and wages out of preportion again, and there will be even more preasure on him to perform than Torres had and he might also crack and fail. A striker (Falcao), won’t be the only signing we make, so instead of spending £90m on one player.. Go for Cavani £30m, Fellaini £25m, Subotic £25m, Luke Shaw £10m, =£90m. If Abramovic really want to spend big on a player, he can top with some wonderfull icing and get Neymar. AND BRING BACK JOSE MOURINHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agree with Vince, would like to see Falcao play for Chelsea the way he had been for A.Madrid, but there is every chance he won’t. It wouldn’t be the first time a worldclass player drops in form. So it won’t be senceable, rather spend that money on various other players.
He has a 60m buyout clause…
