News broke on TalkSport this morning of Mar. 1, 2013, in regards to interest in pending summer free agent defender Aurelien Chedjou. The 27-year-old Lille player defender has made it clear that he has the intention to the leave the former Ligue 1 champions over the summer.

Chedjou is believed to be a long term target for the Gunners and the Magpies who had reportedly had their eye on him for quite some time. However, Liverpool are believed to be interested in updating their defensive contingent over the summer.

The summer retirement of Jamie Carragher from the Anfield club will see them look at a crises of long term servitude at the back and the Cameroon international is believed to be a potential new recruit.

According to quote from the player he is certain to be taking his leave and entering the Bosman market in the coming months but there is no certainty to where he will end up just yet:

It seems to me that I’ve had a rather good season. There are people who have been scouting me – my agents have told me about it.

And most importantly, after six years here, a cycle is coming to an end. I am one of the pieces of furniture in the dressing-room here. I feel ready to join one of the top European clubs.

It is certain to be a busy summer as always for the English Premier League and Chedjou is just one of many that could head across the channel in the summer.
